SYNTHESIZER MUSIC BY RICHARD DECOSTA
No, it didn't die in the 70s with all the 'me too' Moog synthesizer LPs. Software synths are breathing new life in the genre started by the likes of Wendy Carlos, Tomita and others.
As far back as I can remember, I've listened to and loved the music of Wendy Carlos, Isao Tomita and the like. I call it "classical synthesizer music" for lack of an actual genre. I've begun a CD called, "So Many Colours", which contains synthesizer arrangements of some of my favourite Baroque, Classical, Romantic, Impressionist and modern compositions (as well as some of my own).
While I am heavily influenced by them, I have tried with these pieces to infuse my own style of orchestration and my own methods of synthesis. Most of the music below was created using software synthesizers, including the Pentagon I, Moog Modular V, MiniMonsta, Minimogue, Audjoo Helix, Quantum 64 and a couple of my own SynthEdit creations.
